Thank you for having us, it was a wonderful day and you and your team are so supportive it’s amazing to see. The students were very engaged, asked a lot of questions about their futures and how the activities were relevant. Some were able to relate this back to what they have learned in STEM subjects which was refreshing to see.

It was great to have the group on site and show them around, the behaviour was great on the walkaround and during the talks they really paid attention to our speakers. The students were really engaged, showing interest and asking lots of good questions, we hope they enjoyed their time on site and hopefully we have done enough to convince a few of them to consider a career in construction!

The young men that you brought over were all well behaved, and it was good to show them around. It was good for my staff too I think. Sometimes we don’t think of our roles from an external perspective and that can help with our own insights and appreciation of what we do.

Here at The Stephen Longfellow Academy, we pride ourselves on having positive and proactive relationships with numerous external agencies, including a range of Sixth Form Centres and colleges. Representatives from these centres and colleges are invited to the Academy on a regular basis, allowing our students to explore the range of options available to them following completion of Year 11. Alongside further education establishments, the Academy also regularly interacts with local businesses, enabling our students to gain first hand experience of the wider world of work and additional options that may be open to them.
