Working in Partnership with The Leeds Apprenticeship Hub (Leeds City Council), Sessions were planned in TSLA to raise awareness of apprenticeships and to support any Year 11’s who actively wanted to apply.
The first session was delivered to Year 11 students and the aim was to provide information on apprenticeships but then show students how to register on the website, search and apply for them. The session was a 50-50 split of presentation and practical application. In total 8 Year 11 students were part of the session.
Prior to the session each student was supported in Employability sessions, form time and in 1-1’s with Raj Gill Careers Adviser to create a working email and a CV which would support them in registering online and with making applications.
Outcome
As a result of the workshop, 6 of students have registered on the website, 2 have directly sent their CV’s to Leeds city council, via the link given by the facilitator today and 3 students have made a start on an apprenticeship application 28/03/2018. The rest of the group were engaged and participated fully. The Apprenticeship hub will deliver further sessions lower in the school to raise awareness of this opportunity with year 10.
