On Friday 29th November Miss Swainston and Mrs Arnett took 8 students to The BBC Good Food Show for a reward trip to Birmingham. We started the day by tasting lots of new and interesting foods, looking at new machinery and tasting the wonderful and varied foods that were on offer. Students also met the famous Michelin and TV chef Michel Roux Jr.
All the students were amazed by a blender called the Vitamix which could do 100s of different things. The students agreed that they would try to persuade Mr Mallison to buy one for the food room when they returned to school.
In the afternoon we watched Nadiya Hussain in the live theatre making a one pot pan chicken curry and nariyal burfi which is an Indian coconut sweet. The products smelt amazing as they drifted over the audience.
All students agreed that the day was well worth the long journey there and back with students leaving school at 7.30 and returning at 20.30.
