At The Stephen Longfellow Academy, we recognise how important effective Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) is for young people. We expect all of our students to have high aspirations and consider lots of exciting and challenging careers.
Careers Leader Wayne Little and Careers Officer Raj Gill are the Careers Team in school.
We aim to inspire every student through real-life contacts in the world of work. We help them to understand their choices, and where these can take them in the future. We know that every student can become a self-confident, well-educated and enterprising individual, no matter their location or circumstances.
We work very hard across the school to prevent all forms of stereotyping. We ensure that all students, no matter whether they are a boy or girl, or what background they are from, consider a wide range of careers.
Every student is stretched and gains the skills and qualities that employers value. We set high expectations for all students, including those who are the most vulnerable and those with special educational needs and disabilities.
We help every student to realise their potential and support social mobility. Our aim is to help every one of our students access the careers that they want, no matter their gender, race, circumstances or background.

Our role is to close the gap between young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and others in positive destinations.
