Year 7 HT5 Summary
Year 7 are currently studying their, ‘Freak Show’ module, where they have explored different elements of staging to develop a range of unique characters.
In this module, the students have been developing a circus stage performance over a number of weeks and have incorporated a number of previously studied Drama elements into their planning.
The students have been learning to sequence and plan their practical work in greater detail and have shown great awareness of the technical aspects involved when piecing together a lengthened group performance.
This scheme of work has allowed students to reflect on their Assessment Point 3 Grades and has encouraged them to work more efficiently in a practical setting.
Year 8 HT5 Summary
Year 8 are currently studying the, ‘Our Day Out’ module, where they have been developing their physical theatre skills as well as being able to listen and respond to others in the group.
In this module, students have used the television series of ‘Our Day Out’ as a primary stimulus and have successfully recreated a number of scenes from the original series. The students are focusing on their vocal skills more so this term as they have been attempting to develop their characterisation skills even further.
Students have also been encouraged to take an active role in directing their own performances and have produced a number of detailed scripts to complement their practical performances.
This scheme of work has allowed the students to reflect on their Assessment Point 3 Grades and has encouraged them to work more independently in a practical setting.
