Year 7 have recently completed their, ‘Gun and Knife Crime’ module, where they have used a broad range of news stories and video material to create performances centred around the fore-mentioned topic.
The students have focused on the development of their group performances to allow them to incorporate multiple characterisations skills and elements into their practical pieces. Students have also developed their devising skill set and have successfully guided performances using their reflection skills to build on any areas of improvement.
The practical and theoretical material produced for this module was used to determine our student’s final Assessment Point Grade.
Year 8 have just completed their ‘Hogwarts’ Drama module where they have been extending their performance skills even further using the works of J.K Rowling as a stimulus. In this module, students focused on the use of characterisation, as well as drawing upon previously studied skills, to make their performances engaging and captivating.
Students have been encouraged to reflect upon their performances more than ever this term and actively took the directing role whilst devising and building lengthier performances on stage. Our written script work has helped this process greatly and our students have excelled in this planning area.
