As part of the Stephen Longfellow Academy careers programme, Elliott Hudson College (an Ofsted outstanding rated college) were invited to deliver a session about their post 16 offer to students.

Key stage 4 students participated in the session learning about the college, and it’s A Level, T Level and BTEC offer. Students learned about the destinations of previous Stephen Longfellow Academy students who went there, and their outcomes post 18 e.g., university and advanced apprenticeships. Students were also shown how to apply and how important it was to visit the college on open events to make an informed decision about their futures.

Feedback taken from the students after the session showed:

83% had been made aware about the different courses on offer at the college.

83% now knew how to apply to the college.

66% would consider going to EHC post 16.

The Stephen Longfellow Academy will continue to work Elliott Hudson College to support its Careers Programme to promote the variety of post 16 options to its students. A visit is planned for students who have shown interest in studying at the college for November 2022.
