As a reward for ongoing excellence within the academy, learners were given the opportunity to attend a reward trip to Flamingo Land or Hollywood Bowl. Learners were rewarded for high attendance, attitude in lesson and behaviour both in and around the academy. We were proud that over half of our learners spent the day out of school, enjoying the reward given for their efforts.
A large number of learners enjoyed numerous games of bowling and a treat lunch as they showed off their skills at Hollywood Bowl. JH (year 10) was crowned the top bowler of the day with Mr Bergan and Miss Millar having a closely contested battle which finished as a tie.
Other learners attended Flamingo Land and had an excellent time, with many never having experienced a theme park before. Mr Bardsley was extremely proud of the behaviour of all learners and Miss Barnes praised the resilience of our year 7s who overcame their fear to ride Kumali!! A number of new friendships were made on the day, hopefully these will continue to blossom.
Well done to all and we are looking forward to the next trips and thank you to all staff who helped make the day safe and enjoyable for everyone.
