Year 7
Year 7 have been developing basic practical skills such as the bridge and claw cutting techniques, washing up methods and using the oven safely. Year 7 have been working extremely hard and will be starting to complete AQA Entry Level Awards in Half Term 3.
Year 8
In year 8 students have been developing their knowledge of The Eatwell Guide. Students now have a firm understanding of health. Students have been working on the AQA Entry Level Award for Making a Pizza. During half term 2, students have made macaroni cheese using the roux sauce method, in the last week of term we will be making ginger bread men as our Christmas bake.
Year 9
Year 9 are developing a better understanding of the Hospitality and Catering Level 1/2 Award. Year 9 students have been focusing on the practical skills such as jointing chicken, making fresh pasta, plate presentation skills. By developing these skills in year 9 it will support pupils to gain a L1P and above in year 11 examinations.
- Billy Year 9- Plate presentation- Billy presented the chicken nuggets which he made, the chicken was jointed in the previous lesson and then he used the breast meat to make the chicken nuggets.
- Tobi-Jack Year 9- Jointing Chicken- The image attached shows Tobi jointing a chicken into the legs, thighs, breasts, wings and carcass.
