Year 7

During HT2 students have been developing their basic understanding of food hygiene and understanding safety within the kitchen. Students can explain in detail the importance of washing up and working in a safe hygienic environment. During the half term students have learnt how to use the oven, the grill the hob and blenders.

Year 8

During HT3 students have been developing their knowledge The Eatwell Guide and are able to explain the importance of protein, carbohydrates and fats within the diet and their role. During the half term students have cooked risotto, empire biscuits, potato croquettes, carrot cake, enchiladas, cottage pie and pancakes.
