Year 10

During HT1, Year 10 students started the full GCSE Food, Preparation and Nutrition content starting with Food, Nutrition and Health; so far they have covered carbohydrates, protein, minerals, vitamins, water and fats and will be completing a end of topic test before the end of HT1. During HT1 they have cooked stir fry, sausage rolls, brownies, cauliflower cheese, pizza, and Swiss roll.

 

Callam Year 10

Callam has made wonderful progress during half term 1 and was able to independently complete research and a purple zone regarding vitamins and minerals. This will support Callam greatly when completing his AQA Food, Preparation and Nutrition NEA and Examination in year 11.

Year 11

During HT1 year 11 students have started their NEA2 assessment which focuses on Planning, Preparing, Cooking and presenting a meal based on Italy, a healthy meal for children or adults with cardiovascular disease. Year 11 students have started off really well and moving into HT2 will be preparing to cook as part of the NEA.
