Year 9
In Year 9 students have been focusing on the food choice element of the GCSE. They have been focusing on adapting recipes for certain groups of people as well as completing pieces of work based around rowing during rowing week at TSLA. During HT3 students have cooked stir fry, fresh pasta, melting moments, sausage rolls, muffins, Bolognese with homemade pasta.

Year 10
During HT3, Year 10 students have been focusing on the Food Safety element of the course, they have been understanding what bacteria is, how it forms, what food spoilage is and everything which is covered by hygiene in the kitchen. During HT3 they have cooked carbonara, Cornish pasties, Viennese biscuits, shortcrust pastry, fish cakes, decorated cheesecake and lasagne.

Year 11
During HT3 year 11 students have continued to work on their NEA2 assessment which focuses on Planning, Preparing, Cooking, and presenting a meal based on Italy, a healthy meal for children or adults with cardiovascular disease. Year 11 students have continued very strongly and the majority of students have now completed their 3 hour practical assessment.
