Year 7 have recently completed their topic on castles and are now starting to look at the Black Death during the 14th century. We will look at how the Black Death spread so quickly and how and why it killed millions of people in Europe. Students have been especially interested in the vile and nasty symptoms of the Black Death!

Year 8 are coming to the end of the Tudors topic. We have looked at all of the Tudor monarchs, particularly Henry VIII and Elizabeth I. Students really enjoyed learning about Henry’s wives and why he killed and divorced most of them! They have also enjoyed looking at the many different portraits of Elizabeth and learning that she actually looked nothing like how she was portrayed in them but in fact had no hair, had black teeth and had many scabs and scars on her face!
