This half term Students in year 7 have being using Russia as a case study to investigate a range of geographical topics and skills. Our year 8 students have been studying extreme environments and using Qatar as a case study. In this student have been looking at the ethics surrounding the world cup. Year 9 students have been looking at Rio De Janeiro and how rapid growth has led to challenges and opportunities for the people that live there.

Year 10 have started the Urban Issues and Challenges topic and have been studding Mumbai as an example of a city in a LIC and Leeds as an example of a city in a LIC/NEE. Year 11 have been studying the changing economic world using Nigeria as a case study to see how rapid economic growth has changed the state of the country. Year 11 have also completed their mock exams this Half Term.

Year 7 have spent this half term studying the Norman Conquest and the change in the church, state and society in Medieval Britain. Year 8 have been studding the first world war and the impact on Britain, Europe and the wider world then and present day. Year 9 have been looking at British civil rights through from 1945 onwards with a specific focus on black and LGBT+ rights and Northern Irish civil rights.
