BTEC Tech Award Level 1/2 Digital Information Technology
Here at The Stephen Longfellow Academy, our KS4 offering for ICT is The Pearson BTEC Tech Award in Digital Information Technology. This course will enable students to develop sector-specific knowledge and skills in a practical learning environment through vocational contexts by studying the knowledge, understanding and skills related to user interface designs, data management, data interpretation, data presentation, data protection and effective use of digital information technology as part of their Key Stage 4 learning. This builds on the learning that they will have studies at Key Stage 3.
Over this half term, learners have studied the exam content presented in Component 3 – Effective Digital working Practices. This component has given learners an opportunity to explore how the developments in technology over recent years have enabled modern organisations to communicate and collaborate more effectively than ever before. The component is designed to allow learners to explore the digital systems available to organisations and how their features have an impact on the way organisations operate. Learners have explored how developments in technology has led to more inclusive and flexible working environments, and how regulation and ethical and security concerns influence the way in which organisations operate.
