Over two last 2 weeks of half term 4, the students in KS3 have been involved in STEM (STEM is an education curriculum that focuses heavily on the subjects of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) activities. STEM makes creators, thinkers, problem solvers, doers, innovators, and inventors. With this in mind students have had the challenge to design a capsule and parachute and Drop Eggbert (raw egg) the astronaut from a height without him cracking up. Afternoon timetable students are building the straw towers to support three crème eggs with the tallest and strongest wins. This differentiated approach gives our students the freedom to develop all the skills that STEM sets out to do, as well as linking them to the lesson outcomes in their lessons.
