Here at The Stephen Longfellow Academy, we have really tried to embrace the modern world and drive our pupils’ cultural capital. The children have been fully immersed into learning the commonly used language of the world, Mandarin. Our key stage 2 cohort have thoroughly enjoyed learning the fundamentals of the language and gaining an insight into the cultural differences over in China. Students this year have focused on the mastering of the numbers 1-10 and the prime colours. They have had the opportunity to translate their opinion from English to Mandarin with visual aids and catchy songs the children have ingrained into their heads.
We are so proud of our students’ contributions and willingness to learn a new language, we have displayed their work on the entrance of the primary corridor. We always aim to show off the fantastic work created throughout our intricate, inspiring curriculum.
