Our Year 7 student has made a great start to HT1 in Maths and has been showcasing his column addition skills.

TSLA Maths – HT1 Website update (Year 8)

Year 8 have started the year developing their understanding of Number, in particular Order Operations and Negative Numbers.  It is excellent to see examples of students progressing onto Extension tasks having consolidated their understanding of these topics.

Lewis has worked the entire lesson developing his Order of Operation skills. Not only has Lewis accessed his Purple Zone but he has also accessed further challenge questions as part of his Green for Growth.

Matilda has showcased her negative number skills by completing an array of tasks in lesson. Matilda has accessed extension exercises following her silent work in Purple Zone

Harry has persisted with his tasks whilst trying to secure his BIDMAS understanding. Harry has responded to guidance from his teacher and is developing his fluency skills in Maths.

TSLA Maths – HT1 Website update (Year 9)

Year 9 have started work on the GCSE specification completing the pre-GCSE unit and Unit 1 Number, an integral unit that acts as a pre-requisite in many of the units within the course.

TSLA Maths – HT1 Website update (Year 10)

Year 10 have started the year continuing the GCSE programme, completing Unit 8 on Perimeter, Area and Volume before moving on to Unit 9 Graphs.  It is excellent to see their development of problem solving within these units.

Lola Year 10 – During this lesson Lola displayed high levels of fluency when calculating the area of a trapezium. She was then able to apply her new knowledge in order to calculate the missing length within the 3-star question!

Harley Y10 – Completing his G4G task on the gradient of a line, for both positive and negative gradients.

Billy Y10 – A piece of work from area of a triangle that has been completed by a year 10 student.

TSLA Maths – HT1 Website update (Year 11)

Year 11 started the year completing Unit 18 on Fractions, Index Laws and Standard Form before preparing for Paper 1 of the November mock series, which they completed in classrooms.  This paper was then used by Year 11 teachers to inform subsequent planning via our Question Level Analysis.

Marcus (Year 11) – Within the lesson Marcus was able to successfully order fractions. This included him finding a common denominator and convert between equivalent fractions, in order to be able to easily see which was the largest.

Ethan (Year 11) – Ethan showed his competency in applying the 4 operations to standard form, including solving problems involving standard form.

Gabby (Year 11) – Gabby has demonstrated an excellent level of fluency in adding and subtracting fractions with different denominators.  She has progressed onto applying this understanding to mixed numbers.
