Year 9
Year 9 students this term have concluded the Unit 1 Number, which included calculating with percentages before progressing onto Unit 2 Algebra. This unit included algebraic manipulation such as expanding 2 separate brackets as well as solving linear equations. Students have also completed Green for Growth tasks on gaps in knowledge identified within iterative assessments.
Lola (Year 9) – Lola has demonstrated and excellent understanding across a range of topics including Algebra and Percentages. Lola has shown a real apathy for learning and this is evident in the level of work Lola produces in her lessons.
Kayla (Year 9) – Kayla has demonstrated here an excellent understanding of calculating the modal value from a list of numbers.
Year 10
Building on from HT1, Year 10 students have progressed on Unit 9 Graphs. This included tackling the difficult concept of Equations of Lines by understanding and calculating Gradient. Students have also consolidated their understanding of statistical charts, namely comparative bar charts and pie charts.
Addy (Year 10) – Addy has begun to grasp a difficult concept of finding the Equation of a line using gradient and y-intercept.
Callam (Year 10) – Here Callam has successfully caught up on missed content through a G4G lesson looking at Pie Charts. As you can see, Callam has worked with great success throughout the lesson and has embedded a great level of fluency in this topic.
Subhan (Year 10) – Excellent understanding of comparative bar charts.
Year 11
Year 11 started this half term completing full mock examinations, a challenging process to go through but one they excelled in. From these exams, Year 11 teachers have completed a Question Level Analysis, providing personalised feedback to their students. Subsequent lessons have then been planned to address the identified gaps in knowledge.
Ethan (Year 11) – Made significant progress here in understanding Probability Tree Diagrams, a topic identified as a gap in knowledge in our Question Level Analysis of the recent mock exam.
Layton (Year 11) has been using his Question Level Analysis from the recent mock exam effectively to target his revision, which included calculating with column vectors.
Sophia (Year 11) used her skills to reflect images using straight and angled lines. She was then able to progress on to reflect shapes using straight lines parallel to the axes.
Alisha (Year 11) Has demonstrated here an excellent understanding of Index Laws throughout her classwork and Purple Zone. Alisha has been able to use her fluent understanding in answering a problem-solving code breaker for Purple Zone with great success.
