| Place value – knowing the names of each column and rounding to whole numbers, nearest ten, hundred or a thousand. |
| Add and subtract whole numbers using the column method. |
| Grid Multiplying up to 3 by 3 digit numbers, Short division – dividing by 1 or 2 digit numbers |
| Negative numbers – Adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing, Ordering negative numbers and real life negative number questions |
| Real Life arithmetic – real life examples of using basic functions and how they are presented in real life such as invoices, receipts, etc. |
| Money questions without a calculator – add, subtract, multiply and divide functional questions involving money |
| Square and cube numbers – knowing square numbers up to 15 x 15, knowing first five cube numbers plus 10x10x10 |
| Square roots and cube roots – knowing that square roots are the opposite to square numbers and learning the first 15, plus the first 5 cube roots. |
| Ordering decimals – be able to order numbers with up to four decimal places |
| Recipe questions – use the half and double method for recipe proportion questions |
