Year 8
Year 8 started this year consolidating their understanding of vital Number topics before progressing onto Ratio and Proportion. In particular, they have learned how to share into a given ratio as well as solving problems involving ratio. Their 2nd unit of study has focussed on Area and Volume, working up to calculating the Surface Area of prisms.
Kayla (Year 9) is grasping the concept of Indices in this Purple Zone task.
Year 9
Year 9 begin a 3-year GCSE curriculum leading to their final linear exams in Year 11. They have begun by working through a pre-GCSE unit focusing on key Number topics to prepare them for GCSE study. This has included calculations with decimals, understanding different types of numbers e.g. multiples, factors, primes and calculating the Lowest Common Multiple (LCM) and Highest Common Factor (HCF).
