Year 8 Maths

Year 8 have progressed onto Unit 3 Statistics this half term, learning how to represent data through different charts such as dual bar charts or pie charts.  They continue to revisit gaps in their knowledge as part of their Green for Growth.

Joel (Year 8) – As part of his statistics module, Joel has been able to interpret dual bar charts as well as construct them after being given a specific piece of data.

Amelia (Year 8) – As part of her statistics module, Amelia has demonstrated strong angle drawing and calculation skills to be able to produce a number of accurate and informative pie charts.

Lewis (Year 8) – Lewis has developed his ratio skills further by learning how to divide by ratios of 2 or more numbers. Lewis was engaged throughout his Purple Zone and completed further challenges as part of his Green for Growth.

Year 9 Maths

Year 9 have progressed onto Unit 3 Charts and Graphs, learning how to construct and interpret their own data and display in charts such as dual bar charts, pie charts and stem & leaf diagrams.

Tahlia (Year 9) – Excellent productivity from Tahlia, learning how to construct and interpret Stem & Leaf diagrams.

Skye (Year 9) – Pie Charts – Classwork and Purple Zone with a stretch and Challenge 7 mark GCSE questions as Green for Growth incorporating percentages.

Rosie (Year 9) – designing and completing her own Simple and Comparative Bar Charts in Classwork and Purple Zone as well as Problem Solving through re-designing and completing an incorrect bar chart.

In Green for Growth Rosie has been able to interpret data as well as complete a Comparative Bar Chart for 2 sets of data.
