Year 10 Maths

Year 10 have progressed on to Unit 9 that focusses on Graphs and Equations of a line, a notoriously difficult topic for students to grasp, but one they have excelled in.  They have then moved on to Unit 10 Transformations, learning how to transform shapes via Translation, Reflection, Rotation and Enlargement.

Liam Y10 – Liam was able to successfully rotate a shape, followed by accurately describing being able to accurately describe rotations .

Tyler Y10 – Completing work on the equation of a line Y=MX+C

Frankie Y10 – A piece of work completed on translation of shapes.

Lola Y10 – Within this lesson Lola was able to successfully work out the equation of a line through firstly calculating the gradient of the line, before also identifying the Y-intercept.

Year 11 Maths

Year 11 have focused predominantly on filling the gaps in their knowledge identified within their recent mock exams.  Our Question Level Analysis grids have communicated to students where these gaps are and the subsequent targets and tasks have allowed them to tackle these topics within Green for Growth.

Ethan (Year 11) – Ethan has engaged well with his targets set from his recent mock exam, making progress in his gaps in knowledge through his Green for Growth tasks.

Gabbi (Year 11) – Gabbi has shown a strong understanding of Circle Properties before moving on to Circumference of a Circle.

Tyler (Year 11) –  completing QLA Green for Growth on areas he was unsuccessful with in his November Mock Series. The aim of these sessions is to embed fluency across the topics and then look to stretch and challenge and introduce GCSE style questions when appropriate.
