Half term 1 & 2 has been very successful for Noise Academy and the students taking part. We’ve seen many new faces enter the room and begin their Noise Academy adventure and some veterans that are still continuing to put in a great performance in every session.

We have started awarding stand out students with ‘Hero Award’ each term which highlights the students that have been exceptional in their efforts and achievements.

The Hero Award for key stage 3 is HMT. He always brings a huge amount of enthusiasm to lessons whether that be on his own or in a group. He strives to learn new things all the time and will also offer a helping hand to other students when they are learning. He should be really proud of his achievements not only in this term but also since he started doing Noise Academy!

We would also like to give special mention to KLKF,  year 8 who at the beginning wouldn’t even come into the room. She is now one week away from recording her mix for Soundcloud and it’s sounding fantastic. Well done!

The Hero Award winner for key stage 4 is CDa. He has a brilliant musical ear and is able to mix on the decks on his own whilst also incorporating loops and other different effects. He’s successfully completed many recordings on Soundcloud but still has the same drive each session to keep building. His Noise Academy journey will unfortunately be coming to an end soon as he is in Year 11 but we hope he continues after school as he’s definitely got the talent for it.

Whilst DJing has been the priority, we have also helped some students on the music production side of things using Logic Pro X as well as create their own beats on the Native Instruments Machine.

As we leave the first term behind and start a new one, we are looking forward to welcoming more students into session and starting their musical journey’s.
