As we entered our new building, the feeling of anticipation around our sports facilities was very high among some of our youngest students. In October, we were lucky enough to open our state of the art gym facility that is now enjoyed by all students and staff, particularly our active KS3 cohort.
After completing a readiness for activity questionnaire and having a gym induction, our students were ready to go. KS3 have made significant progress over a 4 week period and have now begun to actively plan their own sessions. The most popular activities include our treadmills and taking part in the Gorse rowing challenge using one of our rowing machines. Students have excelled in this area and are now beginning to produce some impressive times.
The whole school (especially our PE team) cannot wait for our multi million pound sports hall to be officially opened in the first week of half term 2. A range of before and after school clubs are already planned to make the most of this unique facility.
