Year 7 – Energy and Electricity – Students have gained an understanding of the conservation of energy, the different forms of energy and how energy is transferred. Students really enjoyed building their own circuits and learned about the different symbols used when drawing circuit diagrams.
Year 8 – Electromagnetic spectrum and photosynthesis – We have looked at the EM spectrum and the various types of waves and the variety of potential uses and dangers. We have also looked at photosynthesis, specialised plant cells and used a microscope to identify Xylem cells in celery.
Year 9 – Energy and Organisation – We have been working on the conservation of energy as well as GPE, KE, power and work done calculations. Within the organisation topic we have gained an understanding of the different organ systems within the body and the various organs, tissues and cells within these systems.
