Year 9
Our Year 9 students have been busy dissecting sheep! The image below shows the heart of sheep sliced open carefully to view the different chambers and the valves of the heart. The students also looked at the lungs. This was all part of the organisation topic. All of the students worked very well throughout this topic and had very steady hands when they were dissecting these organs!
Year 10
The students in Year 10 completed Interim assessments during half term 3. They did this successfully and showed resilience whilst completing them. Their exam technique and perseverance has developed as the year has gone on, helping them to prepare for their year 11 GCSE’s.
Currently Year 10 students are studying the organisation topic, a topic which was covered briefly during lockdown. Year 10 students will also get the opportunity to dissect different organs.
Year 11
The year 11 students are steadily working through the inheritance and variation topic along with completing the first set of mock examinations, our year 11’s prepare themselves for another round of mock exams. Students have been given revision guides, revision material and in class revision lessons to help achieve well within these mock exams and prepare them for the upcoming GCSE exams.
Our year 11 students continue to show great motivation and enthusiasm within science; Keep pushing year 11!
