At The Stephen Longfellow Academy, we recognise the significance of effective Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance for our students. It is our expectation that all our learners have high aspirations and consider a broad and ambitious range of careers. Our academy is committed to providing comprehensive and high-quality information, advice and guidance to all our students, to enable them to make informed decisions about their future and a wide range of career pathways. Our programme aims to inspire, raise aspirations, broaden horizons and challenge stereotyping.
We provide access to a wide range of activities that inspire young people, including motivational speakers, workshops, mock interviews, workplace visits, college and university visits. We welcome contact from employers, colleges, universities, training or apprenticeship providers. Our Provider Access Policy sets out our arrangements for managing the access of education and training providers to our students, for the purpose of providing them with information about the provider’s education or training offer. Our CIAG programme is reviewed annually by the Careers Team and adapted where necessary. We take into account any feedback from staff, students, or external providers linked to the previous year’s activities.
