On Monday 30th April, the Stephen Longfellow Academy were lucky enough to have Anna visit from Google Education. The session was delivered to 18 year 8 boys and girls, focussing on “Staying safe online” and the dangers associated with social media.
The interactive session covered topics such as:
- Making sure your privacy settings are correct
- Only talking to people who you know
- Online scamming
- Virus protection
- How to report anything concerning
The interactive session was enjoyed by all and students had a number of excellent questions relating to the subject, particularly how you can be safe from hackers when online gaming. Google will be visiting the academy again over the coming months.
Mr O’Neill will be delivering an assembly on Tuesday 1st May, building on the themes discussed with Google, paying particular attention to social media and how to use this safely.
